Student Blogging Challenge.. What we learned about Australia from Ms. Trish's Classroom blog9/24/2014 We visited Ms. Trish's Classroom Blog and learned all about Australia. Australia is a country, territory and a continent. Australia is made up of different territories and states. We saw pictures of the Three Sisters. They are three tall rock formations that look just alike. They are a very popular landmark in Australia. We also learned about kangaroos. Kangaroos don't have teeth, so they smash food with the rocks in their stomachs. We also learned about the platypus.
If you want to learn more about Australia, you should also visit Ms. Trish's Classroom Blog! We are learning about the different regions in the United States. The regions include the Southeast, the Southwest, the Midwest, the Northeast and the West.
Which region would you like to live in? Why? Look at the monthly average high and low temperatures for New Mexico. New Mexico is in the Southwest region. Molly has 200 pencils. The crumb-snatcher takes 175 pencils. How many pencils does Molly have left?

We had a busy day yesterday! We took a trip up to Clearwater, Tampa and St. Petersburg yesterday. We went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium where we saw Winter and Hope the dolphins from A Dolphin Tale/Dolphin Tale 2. Mason even got to hold Winter's tail. We went to see the American Victory Ship, a Merchant Marine Ship that served in World War II, The Tampa Aquarium where we got to pet stingrays and star fish and then went to a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game at Tropicana Field. The Rays played the NY Yankees and we got to see Derek Jeter. The Rays won! Today it is cloudy and raining. We probaby will just go fishing and not hunt shark teeth but we're not sure. See you soon! Mason We had the opportunity to Skype with author Nancy Krulik. She is the author of the Katie Kazoo Switcheroo series and the George Brown, Class Clown series. We enjoyed asking her questions and finding out about her life. She even read a chapter from one of her books!
Hi Mrs. Avnor!
Mason wanted to send an email to all of his friends saying hello and telling them that he is already having a great time on vacation! Venice is the shark tooth capital of the US and in 2 days, we have found 35 shark teeth in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico off of the Venice Beaches! Here are a couple of pictures. One is of Mason with what they call a "Florida Snowshovel" that is used to scoop the shells/sand out of the water and sift the smaller stuff out. The 2nd picture is just 3 of the shark teeth that we found our first day here. The weather has been warm, in the 80s and very windy. The Gulf is very rough and has BIG WAVES! Have a great Monday and we'll send some more pictures later this week! We are going to the Clearwater Aquarium to see Winter the dolphin and her new friend Hope and also going to a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. Mason's Mom, Libby We have entered the 2014 Student Blogging Challenge. We will be doing this challenge as a class.
