Their classroom was really nice. It is neat that they had ipads. I was surprised that they lived in Georgia and that they had so many students.

Dear Ms. Avnor's Third Grade Class,
Thank you for Skyping with us! We liked that you have less students in your room and how you used maps to find our state. Our school goes up to 5th grade. We are a Bring Your Own Technology, or BYOT, school. This means that we all have different types of technology. In our room we have, ipads, ipods, iphones, mini-ipods, Kindle Fires, Samsung tablets, and a Surface. We try to use websites instead of apps because it works on everyone's device. We especially like drawing apps, Socrative, math games, freerice.com, padlet,.com, nearpod, and our learning management system, itslearning.com.
We study language arts, math, science, and social studies. We study language arts and math for about an hour and a half, and 45 minutes on science and social studies. We are in school for 6 hours and 30 minutes.
Most winters in Georgia are warmer than you would think of winter, but last year we had more snow than ever! We had two storms with 8" of snow. Usually in Georgia, we do not get snow, we get a lot of ice.
We do have four seasons, but their temperature changes are not very drastic. Our fall temperatures are around the 60's, and we consider a cold winter in the 40's. Our summers get pretty warm. We stay in the 90's most of the time.
Most of us have not read a Katie Kazoo Switcheroo book, but it sounds like a good book! We would love to have the contact information for the author so we could talk to her!
Have you heard of the Night Zoo? We Skyped with the Night Zookeeper who taught us about some CRAZY animals! It was lots of fun.
Thank you for Skyping with us. We had a great time!
