The Saint Louis Food Bank by Emily and Griffin
Today we went to the food bank to help families in need. We packed lots of multigrain Cheerios. First we would take a box of Cheerios and take the sack of cereal out of the box. Second we would make sure it is still good to eat by making sure there is air in the sack. Third, we would put a nutrition facts sticker on the sack. Fourth,we put the stickers on the sack and put it in a bigger box. When there is 12 sacks in a box we would tape it. We gave the old cheerios box to the cutters and the cutters cut the box tops of the box. We gave all the box tops to the counters and they counted all the box tops. We packed 296 big boxes with cereal. We had 1,752 packs of cereal.

All About the Food Bank by James and Micah
First we were told what we were supposed to do. Then they gave us our jobs. Then we started working. Then they started dumping out cereal boxes. Then we opened the cereal boxes. Then we put stickers on them. Then the counters counted the cereal bags up to 12. Then they cut out box tops for the cereal boxes. After we finished, we wiped off the tables. We swept the floors. We went where they stored all the food and looked at a lot of stuff. We got on the bus and came back to school.

This week we went to the St. Louis area food bank. We packed multi-grain cheerios. All the food we pack goes to the families in need who do not have food. We packed 296 cereal boxes in just 2 hours. When we were all done packing boxes, a guy showed us around the warehouse. We had so much fun helping families. Bryn counted 1500 box tops!

Our class got to work at the St. Louis Area Food Bank. There were 6 jobs and we got at least 2 jobs each. The first thing you needed to do was open cereal boxes and the last thing you needed to do was tape the boxes shut. Working at the St. Louis Area Food Bank was very interesting.
